The album has been officially licensed from Warner Music Group and has been dynamically mastered from original master tapes for this first ever CD release.

Tra le novità, in ambito internazionale arriveranno 'Songs From The Laundy Room, un ep con quattro inediti dei Foo Fighters di Dave Grohl, quest'anno ambasciatore internazionale dell'iniziativa, 'Put Your Arms Around Me' firmato dall'inedito trio Todd Rundgren/Lindstrom/Emil Nikolaise, 'Songs From The Falling' di Tracey Thorn,  tratta dalla colonna sonora del film 'The Falling', 'Kim's Caravan' di Courtney Barnett, 'Ye Ye Yamaha' dei Go!Team, 'You Go To My Head' di Cassandra Wilson e 'Dark Jovian' di Amon Tobin.

Tra gli artisti italiani, 'Io Sono' segna il ritorno della cantautrice romana Paola Turci, un nuovo album che propone brani del suo repertorio, rivisitati in un’inedita veste acustico-elettronica insieme a Federico Dragogna (Ministri, Le Luci della Centrale Elettrica) e con tre inediti, mentre di 'Via delle girandole 10' di Fabrizio Moro, in uscita in cd a metà marzo, arriverà la versione in vinile proprio nel giorno del Record Store Day.

Numerosissime le ristampe: 'My Squelchy Life' di Brian Eno, 'OX4' dei Ride, il glorioso 'Live At Fillmore East' di Sly & Family Stone, 'Have Some Fun: Live at Ungano's' degli Stooges e 'La Malavita' dei Baustelle sono pubblicati in vinile per la prima volta, mentre ritornano disponibili con rinnovato splendore  'Psychocandy', album che trentanni fa segnava il debutto dei Jesus & Mary Chain, così come 'Valley Of Rain' dei Giant Sand; sono venticinque gli anni di 'Pills'n'Thrills and Bellyaches' degli Happy Mondays, la cui strepitosa copertina è stata creata da Peter Saville, e ben cinquanta quelli trascorsi da 'How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)' di Marvin Gaye e 'The Magnificent Moodies' dei Moody Blues.

E ancora, 'Bamboo Houses' di David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto, 'The Honky Tonk Demos' dei Dire Straits, 'Tiswas' degli Sleaford Mods, 'Different Shades of Blue' di Joe Bonamassa, 'Elgin Avenue Breakdown' degli 101ers di Joe Strummer pre-Clash. KRISMA – CHYBERNATION: CD+ Book - Review from http://www.distorsioni.net/

Pubblicato già come release digitale nel novembre 2009 per la Dischi Strambelly del dj/producer Joyello Triolo, curatore dell’operazione, questo tributo all’opera di Maurizio Arcieri/Chrisma/Krisma/Ex Voto/Opera Punk esce fortunatamente nel 2011 in formato fisico, lasciandoci una testimonianza incredibile del lavoro svolto dai coniugi Arcieri dalla fine degli anni ’60 fino alla fine degli anni 2000. Il package elegante in formato A5 ed il booklet ricco di informazioni rappresentano i punti di forza di questa operazione, mentre il CD in sé presenta diversi momenti di debolezza, anche a causa della presenza di nomi non troppo affermati. Il libro è interessantissimo: si parte con una introduzione sui Krisma a cura del noto critico musicale Luca Frazzi (Rumore, Rockerilla, Buscadero), seguita da una lunga intervista realizzata da Joyello, in cui si racconta tutta la storia dalla fondazione dei Chrisma, al periodo punk londinese, dalla collaborazione con i fratelli Nico & Vangelis a quella con Hans Zimmer a Londra, della breve (e disastrosa) collaborazione con Martin Hannet (produttore della Factory di Joy Division, New Order, A Certain Ratio, Section 25 e tanti altri) a quella con Peter Maben (sound engineer di Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Blancmange, The The e tanti altri) in quel di Hilversum in Olanda, dalla collaborazione con Arto Lindsay (DNA/Lounge Lizards) e con la Atlantica New York fino alle musiche per la televisione (dalle sigle di Be Bop a Lula di Red Ronnie su Italia 1 alle sonorizzazioni per Fuori Orario di Enrico Ghezzi su Rai 3).

Nell’intervista si evidenziano anche i momenti di delusione del duo nei confronti dell’industria discografica italiana fino all’abbandono delle scene nel 1989 per dedicarsi interamente alla TV satellitare, in principio come semplici fruitori (1990) e subito dopo come autori di brillanti format notturni per Rai 3, prima come curatori della prima edizione di Pubblimania (1991) e poi con la trasmissione culto estiva Sat Sat (dal 1992 al 1996) fino alla creazione di KrismaTV nell’estate del 1998 e al ritorno sulle scene musicali nel 2001 con collaborazioni con JT Vannelli, Subsonica, Battiato e tanti altri della scena underground italiana. Alla lunga intervista segue una bio-discografia critica interessantissima a cura di Joyello Triolo, una scheda tecnica contenente i crediti dei brani inseriti nel CD ed una ricca rassegna stampa a chiudere il volume. Pur avendo scremato “the best from the rest” rispetto alla lunga edizione digitale della compilation-tributo, quello che resta nel CD non sempre è di buona fattura. Iniziando con i pezzi inediti (o quasi) dei coniugi Arcieri: le due versioni di La Forza Mia, cover di Marco Carta realizzata in soli quattro giorni dopo la vittoria del Festival di Sanremo nel febbraio 2009 per la trasmissione Chiambretti Night sono assolutamente affrettate e discutibili. Opera Punk di Arcieri (qui presente però con il nome Krisma) è un pezzo già noto ai completisti della discografia dei Krisma in quanto pubblicato digitalmente già alla fine del 2008. Nel tentativo di realizzare un crossover tra punk e techno il risultato lascia alquanto a bocca asciutta.

Di sicuro un brano così avrebbe fatto saltare tutti in aria nel 2001/2002 e non nel 2008/2009, né tantomeno nel 2011, anno in cui l’elettronica è andata avanti in maniera spaventosa. Ottima invece la live version di Samora Club (da “Clandestine Anticipation” del 1982) fatta dai Machina Amniotica nel luglio 2002 con ospiti i Krisma alle voci. Atmosfere orientaleggianti, suoni elettronici minimali, bassi e chitarre tra il postpunk e la new romantic caratterizzano uno dei migliori episodi, se non forse il migliore, della compilation. Tra le tante cover di nomi più o meno noti spiccano l’ottima Skyline (da “Iceberg” del 1986) fatta dagli americani Red Flag (attivi già dagli anni ’80) in chiave future pop, ridando giustizia ad un brano ormai dimenticato e rendendolo adatto ai dancefloor più alternativi, allo stesso modo in cui gli italiani Xelius Project riadattano per il dancefloor Telegram (da “Cathode Mamma” del 1980) in chiave techno-kraftwerkiana, seguendo il percorso tracciato a metà anni 2000 dal combo di Dusseldorf. Molto buona anche se abbastanza fedele la Nothing To Do With The Dog (da “Fido” del 1983) degli Antiquark di Ant Dakini e Sergio Ordonez, un’ottima alternativa alla versione originale. Già conosciuta (ed apprezzata) la Many Kisses (da “Cathode Mamma” del 1980) in versione punk fatta dai XX Century Zorro di Miss XoX (voce) e Teho Teardo (chitarre), punkettoni coevi dei Chrisma (con il Ch) e già pubblicata negli anni ‘80.

Narra la leggenda che nel 1982 Paolo Giaccio, produttore della trasmissione Mister Fantasy, si recò dal suo superiore chiedendo l’autorizzazione per produrre a spese Rai una serie di video per i Krisma da girarsi a Bari.

Ricevuto l’assenso, l’intera troupe (comprendente anche Edo Bertoglio, il regista di Downtown 81) partì per Bali (contando evidentemente di giustifi carsi col capostruttura dicendo che aveva capito male!), dove dopo varie disavventure, riuscirono a realizzare i video di Clandestine Anticipation.

All’epoca i video in location esotiche erano solo appannaggio delle megastar (ad esempio, nello stesso anno, i Duran Duran girarono Save a Prayer nello Sri Lanka), ma non solo in questo il duo italo/svizzero si dimostrò all’avanguardia...

From out of the blogosphere (where else?) comes these two totally unique '70s artifacts, and it's safe to say that the first two albums by Chrisma are wholly different than just about anything in your collection. The group was a duo of husband and wife Maurizio Arcieri and Christine Moser. Arcieri was the frontman for New Dada, a successful beat group in his native Italy that toured with the Beatles in 1965, and then enjoyed a solo career. What could have possessed him to predict the future? From the sound of things, a combination of Eno's solo albums, exposure to Krautrock, and Italy's vibrant progressive rock scene pushed the duo to form Chrisma, one of the first wavo offerings in the country. Picked up by producer Niko Papathanassiou (Vangelis' brother, and a staff producer at Polydor), Chrisma cut two albums in late-'70s London, falling in line with the new guard of Italian punk and new wave alongside groups like Rancid X and the Confusional Quartet, but more technologically savvy and forward-thinking than their compatriots.

Chinese Restaurant was recorded in 1977, but given the range of sounds and influences within (cited on closing track "Thank You," which lists everyone from Lonnie Donegan to Neu!, Iggy Pop to Brian Jones, Roxy Music to Sha Na Na), it could have more reasonably have been a product of the past decade, a forward-thinking blend of gloomy cabaret and synth treatments, ice-cold rock, motorik rhythms, and breathless erotica. 1979's Hibernation is more polished, less experimental, but just as winning as it is all over the place, displaying more of an integrated sound of the times (there's a pronounced Blondie feel to "Aurora B," crossed up with national pop sensibilities that would help the song gain airplay), nods towards dance music (the irresistible "Gott Gott Electron" and "We R" were tailor-made for today's minimal synth frost queens), the sort of abrasive drum-machine punk ("So You Don't" might pass as a Big Black demo), and many of the other variants that made their debut so great. These are totally crazy records and will appeal to a very wide cross-section of all you out there looking for an adventurous, yet familiar listen. Both LPs are pressed on colored vinyl in a numbered edition of 500 copies, so don't hesitate on either. [DM] (Reissued 2010)

Chrisma “Chinese Restaurant” MR003
A seminal album by Italian new wave duo Chrisma, the absolutely essential “Chinese Restaurant” has not been available on vinyl format in over 30 years.  Chrisma is make up of husband and wife team Maurizio Arcieri and Christina Moser (the name comes from the first letters of each of their names).  The record was first recorded in 1977 and originally released that same year by Polydor.  It was produced, and arranged, and contains musical contributions by Niko Papathanassiou (brother of the famous Vangelis Papathanassiou responsible for the timeless “Blade Runner” score).  “Chinese Restaurant” is a very unique record blending the best elements of synth-punk, Neu!-esque prog jams, and new wave into a hybrid of sheer perfection.  From the post-punk energy of the single, “Black Silk Stocking” to the jagged hooks of “What For” and the analog warbling synths of “Mandoia”, this futuristic slab of wax is a classic.  This reissue was licensed directly from the artists, and it includes a reworking of the original front and back cover artwork.  Presented on high-quality 180gm orange vinyl in a hand-numbered limited edition of 500 copies.

Chrisma “Hibernation” MR004
“Hibernation” is the spectacular followup to the “Chinese Restaurant” LP and was recorded in 1978 and was originally released in 1979 on Polydor. This record has not been available on vinyl for over 30 years and tends to fetch rather high prices on the collector’s market. The songs are restrained yet explorative and passionate.  The opening track “Calling” takes the listener down a quirky new wave path riddled with angular guitars and random bits of analog beeps.  The stand out track is certainly “Gott Gott Electron” which is an intoxicating dancefloor slow cosmic jam which will leave a permanent involuntary imprint to the lucky who hear it.  As a whole, the record is reflective of the passion between Maurizio and Christina and is a new wave masterpiece on many levels.  “Aurora B” and “Lover” further display the intense emotional interplay. This reissue was licensed directly from the artist, and the front and back artwork have been re-interpreted and re-invisioned.  This is presented on high quality 180 gram clear vinyl (similar to a limited pressing in 1979) in a hand-numbered limited edition of 500 copies.

Claudio Baglioni has chosen the famous one-million-copies 1968 hit "Cinque minuti e poi..." by Maurizio as a single to promote his new "all covers" album, "Quelli degli altri - Tutti qui".
